Painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen with a wealth of detail, this 1/48-scale model B-26 makes a great pilot gift, or a wonderful present for any aviation enthusiast or history buff.
Like the DeHaviland Mosquito, the Invader was a single-pilot bomber, with a crew member serving as navigator, bombardier and when necessary, loader for the nose guns.
First flight of the Invader was July 10, 1942, with service deliveries beginning in 1943. The Invader first saw service in the Pacific with the Fifth Air Force, but saw greater success in Europe, flying bombing, strafing, and reconnaissance and night interdiction missions.
Versions of the A-26 now the B-26 following the retirement of the B-26 Marauder fought in Korea and in Vietnam, and as a ground attack aircraft in Africa.
